WBHS – Retirement Reception

A retirement reception honoring four staff members of the West Burlington Independent School District is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 6th in the Family Life Center of West Burlington Christian Church. The public is invited.

The reception will recognize three high school teachers Joan Carruthers, family and consumer science, Ann Schach, science, and George Vedder, art, as well as the district’s superintendent, James Sleister.

The event is being sponsored by the West Burlington High School Alumni Association. The Association was established last year to promote the spirit of alumni unity and camaraderie through communications and reunions, to locate alumni, and to provide a resource to W.B.H.S. through donation of alumni time, talent and treasure. In addition, the Association fundraises to provide annual scholarships to graduating WBHS High School Seniors.
